Atlas Converting Apprenticeship Scheme

Build your future to build ours

The Atlas Converting apprenticeship program is a rigorous 4 year scheme arranged in conjunction with Bedford College where the first year comprises of four days academic study and targeted skill training and one day of practical employment at the company in either a production or engineering environment.

The following three years are mainly spent in-house at the company where apprentices are constantly mentored by skilled engineers, with a day-release program for further development of academic knowledge at the College which continually assesses progress of each apprentice at the company.

Upon completion of the scheme, the apprentices will achieve an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) and a BTEC (Business & Technology Education Council) Certificate in either mechanical or electrical engineering, after which they can decide to specialise further within one of the company's departments - mechanical or electrical assembly, engineering design, service or machine commissioning.

"The advanced Engineering Apprenticeship scheme is an extremely effective resource for the company to provide a pathway of opportunities for talented individuals to develop skills and this means we can ensure we have the right people with the latest expertise to support our customers in the long term." Stewart Gedrim, Operations Manager.
